He was an explosives expert with DuPont. Later he became a patent and trademark agent — for instance, he patented Mylar (BoPET). His granddaughter was a staff member at the Australian Youth Space Academy.
Jonathan's father could be characterized as taciturn, or "a man of few words, much like myself", as Jon would say.
