Mary Doris Lyon (nee Neill) (16 September 1919 - 28 March 1984) was a daughter of Mary Neill.

Family and children

She married Walter Willington Lyon on 21 September 1945, who died sometime before 1984.

With him she had three children:

  • Ronald
  • Janice (Mrs Glen Uill)
  • Steve

She had six grandchildren at the time of her death.

Obituary

Mary Doris Lyon, formerly a resident of Almonte, died at Smiths Falls Hospital on March 28. She was 65 years of age.

Born on Sept 16th, 1919, the daughter of the late Robert J Neill and Mary Currie, she was married in 1945 to Walter Lyon, who predeceases her.

She worked as a Registered Nurse at the Rideau Regional Institute for over 20 years, and belonged to Trinity United Church in Smiths Falls.

She is survived by son Ronald and daughter Janice (Mrs Glen Yuill), both of Smiths Falls and Steve of Napanee. She is also survived by grandchildren Shannon, Jordan, Michelle, Joanne, Christian and Richard, as well as sister Edna (Mrs Sars Allman) of Almonte. She is predeceased by brothers Jim and Jack Neill.

The body was rested at the Lannin Funeral Home in Smiths Falls on Thursday and at the Kerry Funeral Home in Almonte on Friday. Service was conducted by Rev Milley of Trinity United Church, Smiths Falls. Internment was in the Albert Street Cemetery, in Arnprior.

Pallbearers were Richard Neill, Mike Hewitt, Bernard Lyon, Elliott Lyon, Don Lyon and Ed Levesque.
