Shad Valley Dalhousie 2001 was held at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, in July 2001. It was the first year Dalhousie hosted. [1]

The challenge for 2001 across all campuses for Shad Valley was technology to help the disabled. The winner across Canada was a team headed by Anne Sealey, who made a board game.
In September Michael visited Toronto and saw a few of his friends, at the Ontario Science Centre, during the awards ceremony.
