Mary Neill (nee Currie) (12 December 1881 - 9 November 1974) was one of the Four "Sisters" of Almonte.
When Mary Currie was born on December 12, 1881, in Peebles, Peeblesshire, Scotland, her father, John, was 35, and her mother, Mary, was 38.
Emigration to Canada
With her family she emigrated to Almonte, Canada in June 1883 when she was less than two years old.
Children and family
She married Robert Jones Neill on 16 September 1903.
With her husband she had two daughters and two sons:
- Edna Mae (26 September 1906 - 2001) (One child: Jack)
- James "Jim" (9 July 1909 - 1967) (no marriage, no children known)
- John Robert "Jack" (2 September 1915 - 19 January 19 1984) (Married Ethel May Cable, had Judith Ann Neill)
- Mary Doris (16 September 1918 - 28 March 1984) (Married Walter Lyon, children Ronald, Janice, Steve)
Death
Her husband died 26 September 1955.
She died on 9 November 1974, in Arnprior, Ontario, at the age of 92.
