Nancy Greenwald is a retired American teacher of the deaf and hard of hearing.
From the early 1970s to 2002, she lived in the South Hill Street neighbourhood of Thunder Bay, Ontario, next door to Ron and Mary Ann Currie. Since then she has lived in Toronto.
Early life
Nancy was born in St. Louis.
She attended Clayton High School.
Education and Career
Nancy studied at three universities:
- Washington University in St. Louis
- Northwestern University, in Evanston, just north of Chicago
- Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario
She first worked as a teacher of the deaf and hard of hearing in St. Louis, Missouri, and Evanston, Illinois.
Nancy moved with her husband to Thunder Bay in the 1970s, where she took a job as a teacher of the deaf and hard of hearing in the Thunder Bay District School Board (TBDSB). She retired from this position in December 2002 and moved to Toronto.
From January 2003, she was a certified Auditory-Verbal Therapist in the Cochlear Implant Program at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, Ontario. She retired from this job in 2012.
Since 2012 she has remained in Toronto, but for six summers she returned to her native St. Louis to work at the St. Louis Zoo in the education department.
Marriage and family
She moved in about 1980 with her then-husband, Donald Hood, to Thunder Bay, Ontario, where they raised their two children:
She divorced her husband in 1992.

Jeremy has had two boys (born circa 2011) with wife Jaclyn Marie Haber. He lives in Woodbridge, Ontario, and as of 2019 is a longtime employee of Long & McQuade at its 2777 Steeles Avenue West location in North York.
Arleigh lives in Halifax. She is unmarried and without issue.
Interests
Nancy is a keep Jeopardy enthusiast.
