Dorothy M. Townend (nee Lemaitre) (17 January 1911 - 3 January 1983) was a daughter of Christena Lemaistre, one of the Almonte Sisters.

Marriage and family

She married Herbert Allen Townend (14 January 1908 - 1996).

According to Geni, she had three children:

Plumbing family business

In 1972 she's listed as living at 170 Munro Street, Carleton Place, Ontario, with her husband, a "superintendent".

As of 2018 there is a car parked outside the house beside, 162 Munro Street, called "Townend Plumbing & Heating Ltd.", so evidently her relatives have continued to live in that neighbourhood!

Townend Plumbing and Heating was founded by Dorothy's brother-in-law, Gerald Arthur "Gerry" Townend (1920-2004) [3], in 1950.

However, Herbert was not involved with the business.

Founded in 1960, Townend Plumbing and Heating has always taken pride in our family roots.
