Dan Griffiths is a distant relative of Michael Currie, related through his paternal grandmother Edith. Michael was visited by him as a child, in 1992, at Surprise Lake. Then, while living in Oxford on a summer work term, he spent a weekend in Wales being shown around by Griffiths. This was the last he saw or heard from Griffiths.
