Shirley McAuliffe

Shirley McAuliffe (née LeMaistre; 1926 – July 26, 2021) was a Canadian public servant and granddaughter of Christena LeMaistre, dean of the Almonte Sisters.

Early Life

Shirley LeMaistre was born in 1926 in Almonte, Ontario, the daughter of John LeMaistre and Florence LeMaistre. Through her father, she was a granddaughter of Christena LeMaistre (née Chicken), the eldest and longest-lived of the Almonte Sisters.

She grew up with her sisters Grace and Jacqueline.

Marriage and Family

Shirley married Ivan McAuliffe, who predeceased her in 2003.

Shirley enjoyed a successful career in the Canadian public service.

Later Life

Shirley and Ivan were active members of the Rivermead Golf Club in Ottawa and spent their winters in Florida.

She loved and was loved by her grandchildren Shane Warner (Jennifer Routliffe), Jordan Warner (Krista Balenko), Auzsha Apps, Dustin Seymour (Mendara Chan), and great grandchildren Evan, Elle and Shea Warner, Violet and Lincoln Seymour.
