Marilyn Joan Hermiston (nee Currie) (born circa 1945) is a Canadian woman who has lived her whole life in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Early life

She is the only daughter of Clyde Currie.

Education and career

From 1984? to 1987?, she was educated at Red River College, University of Manitoba, where she took a Bachelor of Arts in Medical Technology.

She worked from 1975 to 2002 at Winnipeg School Division, and she is now retired.

Marriages and children

She first married Brian Anema (born 7 September 1945), who was born in Winnipeg but had Dutch ancestry, on 10 December 1966, and had two children with him:

They divorced in 1977.

Marilyn met Doug Hermiston, lived together April 1979, bought house in May 1980, and married 24 April 1981. He already had three children from a previous relationship. They were not adopted by Marilyn because their mother remained a significant part of their lives:

However, Doug did formally adopt Shar and Shaun, and so in fact they took his last name as well.
