John "Jack" Leishman

John "Jack" Leishman ((1938-10-08)8 October 1938 – 28 May 2014(2014-05-28) (aged 75)) was the son of Edna Mae Neill and the grandson of Mary Neill.

At the time of his mother's death in 2001, he was alive with his wife Florence, living in Enfield, Connecticut.

As of 2001 they had five children, nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Obituary

John C. Leishman Sr., 75, of Enfield, loving husband of Flo (Nordgren) Leishman, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Hartford Hospital with his family by his side.

John was born Oct. 8, 1938, in Almonte, Ontario, Canada, the son of the late Alan D. Leishman and Edna M. (Neill) Allman. John recently retired after a long career of being self-employed. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1525 in Enfield. He was a sports fan of the following teams: the Boston Red Sox, New York Giants, UConn sports, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Hartford Whalers.

In addition to his wife, Flo, to whom he was married 57½ years, he is also survived by five children, Karyn Oswell, Lisa L. Leishman, Esq., both of Enfield, John C. Leishman Jr. of Topeka, Kansas, Susan Leishman of Enfield, and Christopher Leishman and his wife, Tracie, of Windsor Locks. John is also survived by 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and his two feline friends, Josephine and Vanna.

Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family during visiting hours on Sunday, June 1, 2014, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield. A Moose memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m., and a funeral service celebrating John's life will begin at 4 p.m., both at the funeral home. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of John may be made to the Enfield Loaves and Fishes Inc. Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 544, Enfield, CT 06083-0544.
