Katherine Dugmore

Katherine Dugmore (23 June 1962 – 24 March 2013 (aged 50)) was a urban planner and landscape architect best known as the Waterfront Project Manager for Prince Arthur's Landing in Thunder Bay.
Early life and education
Dugmore was born on 23 June 1962 in Kirkland Lake, Ontario. She obtained an undergraduate degree in Landscape Architecture and a Master of Science in Rural Planning and Development, both from the University of Guelph.
Career
Dugmore had a 25-year career as a planner and landscape architect in both the private and public sectors throughout Ontario. She joined the City of Thunder Bay in 2005 as Manager of Planning Division, and was appointed Waterfront Project Manager in spring 2007.
In that role she provided central leadership for the Prince Arthur's Landing waterfront revitalisation—a complex, $120-million public-private project creating a contemporary public space incorporating a larger park, trails, recreational and cultural facilities, a locally inspired modern and Indigenous art collection, an expanded marina, historic building restoration, new public buildings, and condominium and hotel developments.
She also directed the Terry Fox Scenic Lookout on the Trans-Canada Highway and was active in the Northern District Executive of the Ontario Professional Planners Institute.
Following her death in 2013, the Viewing Circle portion of the waterfront was dedicated in her honour.
Death
Dugmore died on 24 March 2013.
