The Odeon Theatre was a movie theatre in Port Arthur (now Thunder Bay). It was one of the two venues — with the Paramount Theatre — for the world premiere of the Walt Disney film The Incredible Journey on 4 November 1963, based on the novel by local author Sheila Burnford. Contemporary coverage in the Port Arthur News-Chronicle referred to the film being premiered "in Port Arthur theatres" and to bands stationed at the "Odeon–Paramount intersection," and an Odeon advertisement billed the picture as "the first motion picture to have its world premiere in the Lakehead," playing simultaneously in Port Arthur and Fort William.[1][2]
