Northwestern Ontario Women's Centre

The Northwestern Ontario Women's Centre (NOWC) is a women's advocacy organisation in Thunder Bay, Ontario, founded in the spring of 1973 and incorporated on 6 January 1976.
History
The centre was founded following the Northern Women's Conference of 1973, originally under the name Northern Women's Centre. It has championed access to justice for women through advocacy, support, training, and legal education.
Projects originating from the centre include the Thunder Bay Sexual Abuse Centre, the Thunder Bay Coalition Against Poverty, and the Women's Credit Union. The centre serves self-identified women, Two Spirit, and non-binary people, and works on issues including gender-based violence, poverty, and human rights.
The NOWC marked its 50th anniversary in 2023. Gwen O'Reilly has served as its Director since 1991.
